About
The Kingston New Music Collective (KNMC) is dedicated to supporting new music in Kingston, Ontario through regular performances and outreach activities. Co-founded in 2024 by two composers, Kathryn Knowles and Michael Maevskiy, the KNMC’s first concert is scheduled to take place in November 2025 with generous support from the Ontario Region of the Canadian Music Centre
Our hope is to support the music community and contribute to music appreciation, with a focus on promoting contemporary music.

To captivate new audiences and foster community through engaging musical performances that celebrate and explore contemporary music by living composers, and composer of our time.

To empower people to enjoy contemporary music and to inspire more music creation, through a regular concert series in the Kingston community.

The KNMC’s inaugural concert will take place November 2025
The theme of the concert is physical spaces, and the places that shape us as people. A special emphasis will be given to Kingston as an important place that has shaped our musical journeys.
